OORJA
“It’s not the will to win that matters--everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters more.” – Paul Bryant, former Football Player and Coach Suncity School-37D showcased OORJA through its younger Suncitizens on the sprawling grounds of the school on Saturday, March 04, 2023. The Annual Sports meet was held for the students of Foundation Years (EYP till Grade II). The event was organised in conjunction with the Sustainable Development Goals 3, 14, 15, 16 and 17 to inculcate environmental awareness in the young minds from early on. OORJA represented Suncity’s “Integrated Sports Programme” where each child gets exposure to a variety of sports offered by the school. The term OORJA also symbolises the agility, vigour and robustness of Suncitizens as they prepare themselves to be healthy world citizens displaying willingness to participate and sportsmanship. The event sprang open with the Principal welcoming the Chief Guest Ms. Sunil Dabas, Padmashree recipient and National Kabaddi Coach, along with the members of the management—who always emphasise the significance of sports in overall development of a child. Along with various races/ drills, gymnastics and Judo also kept the audience gripped. The event was pepped up with the joyful encouragement by the cheerleaders. The Parent Engagement activities were a riveting part of the day. Everyone was fascinated by the participation of the parents. ‘Yoga for World Peace’ emanated enriching vibes and filled the atmosphere with serenity.
